TKN provided the most competitive quote for the recent demolition of our house.
From the time of engagement they proactively communicated with me and were understanding when we delayed start due to the inability to get the power disconnected in a timely manner.
A thorough job was undertaken leaving a clean and level site ready for handing over to the house builder. A very friendly and efficient company to deal with.

Most Brisbane construction projects cost too much.
New developments, knockdown–rebuilds, extensions – they’re all hamstrung by ever-expanding labour and material costs.
Which is why we’ll beat any comparable written quote from other Brisbane demolition companies.
We know most homeowners and developers don’t have endless budgets, and we don’t believe that straightforward demolitions should as much as our competitors charge.
So, if you’ve already got quotes from other contractors, reach out to us.
We guarantee that we’ll do it for less* – without ever compromising on quality or safety.
*Guarantee only applies to comparable written quotes.
Questions
Every project is different. On average, you can expect to pay anywhere between $18,000 and $30,000 to knock down a standalone suburban house in Brisbane. Factors like your house’s size and number of storeys, your block’s gradient, and the presence of asbestos could all affect the final cost.
The simplest way to get value for money is to get written, itemised quotes from at least 3 different Brisbane demolition companies, then come to us. Our quote-beat guarantee means we’ll come in cheaper on any comparable written quote – and you’ll benefit from having a personalised demolition consultant to guide you through the process.
It depends when the house was built. If your home was constructed before 1947, you’ll need council approval for any kind of demolition work. In most cases, Brisbane City Council won’t grant approval for a full-scale demolition, especially if your property falls under a traditional building character overlay.
As your end-to-end site preparation partner, we’ll investigate your options and liaise with council on your behalf. That can include exploring alternate routes to the same outcome, like getting a general exemption for minor works or lodging a development application for more substantial changes.
A builder can undertake demolition work if they hold a Queensland demolition licence. To check whether a builder is licensed, visit WorkSafe’s current list of demolition licence holders.
It depends on what you’re demolishing and why. If, for example, you’re knocking down and rebuilding your primary place of residence (PPOR), your demolition costs probably won’t be tax-deductible. On the other hand, if the demolition works are being completed on an investment property or for a commercial project, you’ll likely be able to write the cost off either via negative gearing (for now) or as a business expense.
(Please note that we’re demolition specialists, not accountants – if you want tax advice, talk to an appropriately qualified professional.)
